Parent Partnership
As a childminder I aim to work in partnership with parents to meet the needs of the children. I believe a strong partnership between parents and myself as a childminder is the foundation to ensuring a child is happy and developing well. Wherever possible I try to meet parents’ requests for the care of their children according to their values and practices, preferences and attitudes.
I use a secure online system called babysdays. On it I can share your child's learning and developmental journey, along with photographs of your child and a daily diary - which lists things like nappy changes, nap times, approximate food amounts and activities your child has enjoyed. The beauty of babysdays is that you get your own personal password to access the system and view your child's information at your leisure. You are also able to add your own input!
I will notify all parents in advance when I am to be inspected by Ofsted so that parents can contribute their views to the inspector if they want to. I will supply parents with a copy of the Ofsted report within five working days of receiving the report.
I expect parents to inform me of any changes in the child’s home circumstances, care arrangements or any other changes which may affect the child’s behaviour, such as a new baby, parents’ separation, divorce, new partner or any bereavement. All information shared will be kept confidential unless there appears to be a child protection issue.
I offer regular review meetings with parents to discuss their child’s care and any issues or concerns, preferably when the child is not present. I work together with parents to make sure that the care of their child is consistent, as a consistent approach benefits the child’s welfare and helps ensure the child is not confused.
